Classes & Events 

 

Japanese Embroidery UK holds a number of classes and attends a number of events throughout the year and around the country.  For details of all events check out our main site.

Events

Stitch and Creative Craft Show, Manchester Central (GMEX) - 3rd-5th September 2010.  Japanese Embroidery UK will be exhibiting and demonstrating at the show - please come along and say hello.  More details for the exhibition here.  

Japan Day 2010, Midland Hotel, Manchester - 17th October 2010.  Japanese Embroidery UK will be exhibiting and demonstrating at Japan day.  There will be lots of Japanese related activities throughout the day.  Japan Day is organised by Japan Society North West, for more details please visit their website.  

Classes

Phase classes Preston - 21st-24th October 2010 & 28th April - 1st May 2011, Crofters Hotel, Garstang 

Phase classes Bournemouth - 27th September -1st October 2010, Quality Hotel, Bournemouth

These classes cater for all levels of tuition from Phase I to Phase X completion, Phases XI -XX and also Advanced and Challenge designs.  We look forward to welcoming new or existing students at all levels.

Taster classes Preston - 23rd-24th October 2010 & 30th April-1st May 2011, Crofters Hotel, Garstang

A weekend introduction to Traditional Japanese Embroidery designed to give students a brief insight into some of the techniques used in Japanese embroidery.  At the end of the weekend students will have a piece of work which they will be able to complete at home.

If you are interested in taking classes but are not able to attend on the above dates it is possible to arrange private tuition, this can be on an individual basis or for a small group of two or three.  Please contact us for information.

Talks

If you would like to arrange a talk on Japanese embroidery for your group, please contact us.  Recent groups attended have been Japan Society North West, the Selby branch of the Embroiderers Guild, and the Silk 'n Threads group.
